Ogilvie Fleet strikes home charging deal with ChargedEV

Ogilvie Fleet is aiming to make home electric vehicle (EV) charging simpler, faster and more accessible for its leasing clients thanks to a partnership with ChargedEV.

Building on a long-standing relationship between the two businesses, this partnership provides clients with the option to fund their drivers’ home charger and installation costs via their rental agreement.

Clients who use the service are able to add the cost of an Indra Smart Pro domestic charge point and standard installation to their monthly vehicle rental, spread out over the duration of the contract at no extra cost.

The new approach, says Ogilvie Fleet, removes the upfront cost and administration involved in installing home charging infrastructure for drivers, which is one of the most common barriers to EV adoption.

By integrating charger costs into the rental agreement, it explains that businesses can streamline budgeting, offer a tangible employee benefit and ensure drivers have reliable charging access from day one.

Once a driver opts into the service, ChargedEV manages the end-to-end onboarding process, from carrying out a home survey and outlining technical requirements, through to a formal quotation and installation, which is typically completed within three weeks.

The driver portal allows optional extras or alternative chargers to be selected, with the difference paid for by the driver.

Ashley Crookes, sales and marketing director at Ogilvie Fleet: “Our ChargedEV partnership builds on a long-standing relationship and allows us to offer a more joined-up solution for clients transitioning to electric vehicles.

“Access to reliable home charging is critical to successful EV adoption, but the upfront cost and complexity can be a barrier for many.

“This is just one of the steps we are taking this year to make it easier for businesses to support drivers, control costs and accelerate their move to electric.”

ChargedEV delivers a nationwide design, supply, installation and maintenance service for commercial and domestic customers requiring EV charging.

It has been operating since 2013 and is one of the UK’s most established EV charging providers, with more than 70,000 domestic installations and 3,000-plus commercial and fleet projects delivered nationwide.

For Ogilvie Fleet customers, the partnership delivers a more joined-up EV experience, combining vehicle rental and home charging into a single, managed solution that supports smoother EV adoption and long-term fleet decarbonisation.

Andrew Pealin, managing director at ChargedEV, said: “Successful EV adoption depends on making charging simple, reliable and accessible.

“Our partnership with Ogilvie Fleet brings together two vendor-agnostic organisations with a shared focus on practical, customer-led solutions.

“By combining our nationwide installation experience with Ogilvie’s fleet expertise, we can make the transition to electric smoother for businesses and drivers.”

Ogilvie Fleet manages more than 25,000 vehicles in the UK, including almost 15,000 plug in-hybrid and battery electric vehicles.

Some 79% of the current car order bank is made up of PHEVs and BEVs as Ogilvie continues to support hundreds of businesses with their transition to electric.
