Pullman Fleet Solutions is aiming to help fleets access vehicle maintenance without the long lead times traditionally associated with new workshop builds.
It has designed a new rapid maintenance unit (RMU) model, which allows a fully operational fleet maintenance unit, complete with skilled technicians, systems, and specialist equipment, to be up and running in as little as two weeks.
The Hixon RMU, which launched this week (February 24), is the first example of the model in action, with significant volumes of work already scheduled.
The Hixon site has been delivered in collaboration with DMN Fleet Services. It is now working with DMN to expand the RMU model across a number of additional sites throughout the UK.
Dave Jones, managing director at Pullman Fleet Solutions, said: “Pullman’s RMU model is about bringing our industry-leading compliance standards, people, and systems into new locations at pace, without compromising on quality.
“Hixon is a strong example of that. It went from concept to operational in a very short space of time, but it operates exactly as you would expect from Pullman. That’s the model we’re rolling out.”
He added: “Our partnership with DMN allows us to expand this model across the UK in collaboration with an organisation that understands fleet maintenance environments in practice.
“Together, we can deliver operational workshops quickly while maintaining the standards our customers expect.”
Each rapid maintenance unit delivers servicing, repair and maintenance, MOT preparation and testing, and advanced diagnostics.
Facilities are designed to support cars, vans, and heavy goods vehicles, allowing mixed fleets to consolidate maintenance with a single provider.
Nick Chadaway, managing director at DMN Fleet Services, said: “Working in partnership with Pullman brings together DMN’s operational facilities and experience with Pullman’s compliance-led systems and standards.
“The result is a model that enables fully functioning workshops to be established in a matter of weeks, providing fleet operators with professional, high-quality maintenance provision in the locations where it is needed most.”
The RMU rollout forms part of Pullman Fleet Solutions’ wider strategy to bring professional, compliance-focused fleet maintenance closer to operators, reducing downtime, travel time, and operational disruption while maintaining the standards expected of a national provider.
