Search for Nancy Guthrie officially enters its first month, as 30 days have now passed since the 84-year-old mother of news anchor Savannah Guthrie was reported missing.
The lack of crystal clear evidence pointing authorities toward the apparent kidnapper, the circumstances under which it all happened, and Savannah's own high profile role in the morning TV world as the host of NBC's TODAY has turned the case into a global story.
On Monday, March 2, press near Nancy's home in Tucson, Arizona captured an emotional moment for the Guthrie family, who were spotted visiting their mom's house and a memorial.
Several well wishers have created a makeshift memorial for Nancy near her home, covered with floral arrangements, messages praying for her safe return, and more.
In a video shared by News Nation, Savannah, 54, was seen walking arm in arm with her sister Annie Guthrie and Annie's husband Tommaso to the memorial. The family members held on to each other, with audible sobbing heard as well as they embraced near the site.
Fans in the comments of the video expressed their sympathies for the Guthries and prayed for Nancy's safe return as well. Savannah later shared photos of the flowers at the memorial site and wrote beside it: "We feel the love and prayers from our neighbors, from the Tucson community and from around the country. Please don't stop praying and hoping with us. Bring her home."
84-year-old Nancy was last seen near her home in Tucson, Arizona on Saturday, January 31. The Pima County Sheriff Department suspects foul play, and revealed that she was likely taken from her home "against her will."
Authorities discovered blood (later revealed to be Nancy's own) and signs of forced entry at her residence, which is now being treated as a crime scene, and the FBI and Border Patrol subsequently joined the search, deploying technology teams for cellular analysis and tracking dogs to locate her.
The last official update came from Savannah herself on Instagram, who posted a video asking for anyone with information to come forward to "bring her home." She added: "Every hour, every minute, and second, and every long has been agony since then."
"...Of worrying about her, fearing for her, aching for her, and most of all just missing her. Someone knows how to find our mom and bring her home."
She also revealed that the family is now offering a reward of up to $1 million in the recovery of Nancy, although added alongside the video: "NOTE: Family reward of up to $1 million will be paid only for recovery of Nancy Guthrie, consistent with FBI criteria for payment of its reward in this case."
Simultaneously, the Guthrie family also made a $500,000 donation to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to aid in their own work on similar cases. Savannah has been in Tucson, Arizona for the duration of her mom's disappearance, with Hoda Kotb returning to TODAY in her stead.
