UK medical company collapses into administration - '90-second tests'

A “next-generation” medical technology firm in the UK has fallen into administration. Administrators were appointed for Clinical Design Technologies Limited last week, according to a notice published on the official public record website, The Gazette, on Wednesday.

Clinical Design Technologies, headquartered in Exeter in Devon, describes itself as “a dynamic British company proudly focused on raising clinical standards through innovative product design and precision manufacturing”. “Fully owned, designed, and manufactured in the United Kingdom, we bring together the best of British engineering, clinical insight, and agile thinking to deliver practical solutions for modern healthcare,” it says on its website. The firm says it specialises in point-of-care testing.

While Clinical Design Technologies’ head office is in Exeter, its manufacturing plants are listed as in Basildon, Essex, and Newquay, Cornwall.

Its registered address is in Newton Abbot, Devon.

On its website, the company advertises what it describes as “the world’s only digital closed Urine Testing System”.

It tests 10 diagnostic data points, producing accurate results in just 90 seconds, according to the website.

Administrators from London-based business recovery and advisory specialists Moorfields were appointed for the medical company last Thursday (April 30), The Gazette notice said.

The Express has contacted Clinical Design Technologies and Moorfields for comment.
