Man shot dead by federal agents in US named as nurse Alex Pretti | BBC News

Federal immigration officers have shot and killed a man in Minneapolis, identified by local officials as 37-year-old Alex Pretti.

State and federal officials have provided conflicting accounts of the moments prior to Pretti's death, which comes less than three weeks after Renee Good was shot dead by an immigration agent in the city.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said agents fired "defensive shots" after Pretti "reacted violently", while Minnesota Governor Tim Walz said the account of events from federal authorities is "nonsense" and "lies".
