What we know so far about suspected gunman at Trump dinner

The suspect in the White House dinner shooting has been charged with the attempted assassination of the President of the United States.

Cole Tomas Allen, 31, was taken into custody after the shooting on Saturday night and was charged with three counts on Monday.

The charges are attempting to assassinate Donald Trump, using a firearm during a violent crime, and transporting a firearm in interstate commerce with intent to commit a felony.

Cole confirmed he understood the charges while in the dock in a blue prison uniform.
