Britain’s Parachute Regiment has a proud history of jumping straight into the fight since World War II.

Now, with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine casting the shadow of major war over Europe, these soldiers are honing new tactics to ensure the British Army - working alongside NATO allies - can project force anywhere in the world.

Earlier this year, the regiment’s 2nd Battalion, known as 2PARA, took part in Exercise Swift Response on the Swedish island of Gotland, testing one of the most ambitious combat manoeuvres NATO has ever attempted.
