I’m getting tired of pretending anything streamers do is authentic, but here’s CouRageJD’s “reaction” to finding out his dog is in Fortnite before him

Streamer Jack “CouRageJD” Dunlop isn’t joining the Fortnite Icon Series squad… His dog is.

The content creation community have been rooting for CouRageJD to become a member of the Icon Series for a while now, since he’s a very popular Fortnite streamer on Twitch. It seemed like it was finally happening earlier today, as CouRageJD streamed his allegedly candid reaction to seeing the announcement on X.

If we are going to pretend that TikTok videos of couples pranking each other are real, I think we can also begrudingly play along with the “beef” between Epic Games and CouRageJD. This is definitely one of those moments that a clip farming account on X would use, with the 35-year-old behind the account captioning it, “I’m literally crying, dog is so mad bruh” followed by seven crying emojis.

I often imagine those guys crying inside while pretending to believe Kai Cenat is actually getting pranked by his friends, playing along with a content creator that’s aimed at 15-year-olds. But I guess get that bag…

Alright, I digress.

When Epic posted the Sidekick news, it tagged CouRageJD, asking him if there were hard feelings. And he very organically responded: “You’re joking, right? RIGHT?? YES HARD FEELINGS, WE HAVE BEEF.”

Then, CouRageJD went on stream and “reacted” to the “surprising” news that Epic Games made his sorta ugly, scruffy dog Louis into an Icon and Sidekick.

“Maybe this isn’t all bad, chat. Maybe this isn’t all bad. If Louis’ skin makes money… Wait, who makes the money? WHO MAKES THE MONEY FROM HIS SKIN?” CouRageJD exclaimed. “Dog, this is crazy. Is this tweet still up?”

He then read the comment: “Bro’s dog got an Icon skin before his owner.”

Yeah, it all seems very legitimate to me. But anyway…

Louis has now become the first “celebrity” to become a Sidekick, which means CouRageJD’s fans can waste a ton of money changing up his dog’s clothes a bunch of times. Having a Sidekick with you offers no advantage in-game, but you can pay to have it follow you around, which is apparently exciting.

As CouRageJD put it: “WHEN WILL MY SUFFERING END?!”
