Israeli army says security coordination with Palestinian Authority reached record levels in 2025

Israeli army data released on Tuesday showed that security coordination with the Palestinian Authority (PA) reached “an unprecedented level” in 2025, alongside a sharp decline in attacks against Israeli targets.

According to the figures, attacks dropped by 78 per cent compared with 2024, a development the army’s Central Command linked directly to intensified cooperation with the PA’s security services.

Israeli military officials described the coordination as “exceptionally high-level”, portraying the PA’s security apparatus as “an essential partner for stability”. The data indicated that Palestinian security forces regularly return Israeli citizens who enter PA-controlled areas, seize and transfer weapons to Israeli authorities, and provide information related to planned attacks.

The Israeli army reported that “the scale of Palestinian terrorism” fell significantly over the past year. However, it noted a slight rise since October in incidents involving stone-throwing and Molotov cocktails compared with previous monthly averages.

The increase in security coordination has taken place amid continued Israeli military operations in the occupied West Bank, including daily incursions, mass arrests, infrastructure destruction, home demolitions and tightened restrictions affecting Palestinian cities, villages and refugee camps.

Israeli officials acknowledged that cooperation has persisted despite these conditions, describing it as a central factor in the reduction of attacks during 2025.
