If you’ve tried playing Deadlock with its recent Old Gods update, you may have noticed that one of the simpler heroes is Wraith. You may also notice she is also one of the biggest stompers in the post-match stat accolades.

It’s fairly safe to say she is somewhat simple and a high performer. And thankfully, we are seeing a consistent trend of items and builds that players are using to get value while Valve is focused on patching in heroes via votes every two weeks.

If you’re looking to play a Wraith build in Deadlock, you want the following items:

Core Build:

Extra Spirit into Surge of Power – core early into mid-game power spike Mercurial Magnum – key tier 4 item Toxic Bullets – other mid tier power spike item Battle Vest / Healing Rite – good defensive items Monster Rounds – for early game farming

In terms of your core items, you are largely looking at a Spirit build that buffs your core skills. You will often find you get fire rate, spirit power, and better damage for farming. Your main build should look into Extra Spirit as your main core early game item, and into Surge of Power upgrades later on. Your big ticket item to complete the build is Mercurial Magnum.

Surge of Power improves an ability to grant extra spirit power on it. It grants bonus movement speed and fire rate bonus when activated – put it on your 1 ability since it fills your card up when hitting enemies. Magnum grants max ammo and spirit power. It favors fire rate improvements and grants bonus bullet damage based on spirit power. It also increases fire rate so it scales with your Third skill.

By this point, you’ll likely have a lot of Spirit and Fire power upgrades, so it really pumps your build with your absurd fire rate third skill, on top of spamming cards via your 1 ability, which deals spirit damage and refills based on rounds hit.

Hence, the core playstyle.

The other key items here and there are the Monster Rounds for farming creeps early on. It can later be upgraded into a snowballing item, but it’s not entirely a big deal if you don’t upgrade it. The other option most Wraiths like is Battle Vest as you get some defensiveness, while getting a buffed fire rate while above 65% HP. So, it favors your output while playing safe and farming.

Healing Rite is also a solid active that grants players some healing to keep your HP up in lane, and also buffs your Battle Vest. Toxic Bullets is great for applying anti-healing onto enemies to nerf the healing over time effects, or nerf self-healing or healer support characters. It’s easy to apply your damage-over-time effect too, given your high fire rate.

Optional items for Wraith

Outside of the above build, your other items tend to be Rapid Rounds into Swift Striker for more rapid fire and fire damage buffs. Tesla Bullets and Capacitor are also quite nice for chaining effects. The Capacitor is a very expensive T4 item, but the silence and movement speed is clutch for silencing key threats here and there in the late game. Inhibitor is also a good item for more anti-healing choices.

Mystic Burst and Tank Buster are also key items for games where there are a lot of tank items against you with Spirit damage reduction.

Extended Magazine upgrades into Escalating Resilience, optional for firepower and magazine size for tank shredding.

Boundless Spirit is a huge Tier 4 item if you can afford it, which increases your spirit and max spirit damage. It’s an optional late-game item to get after completing Mercurial Magnum, as it scales your 1 skill and the Magnum’s spirit damage add-on effect on your rounds.

Extended Magazine upgrades are another option: More ammo in your mag is huge considering the core build, but not entirely necessary if you need to itemize for more spirit, anti-heal, or tank spirit resistance shredding.
