Alysa Liu's phone won't stop buzzing.
Every minute, a new Instagram follower.
Every second, a new Instagram follower.
The 20-year-old American figure skater landed in Milan, Italy, for the Winter Olympic Games, with a relatively large fanbase of over 200,000 followers on the popular social media platform.
The most-followed figure skater in history, Russia's Sasha Trusova, had 1.8 million followers.
As Liu left Italy to return home with two new gold medals around her neck, she smashed that record.
The women's figure skating Olympic gold medalist has 4.7 million Instagram followers (and climbing) as of the writing of this article.
By the time this is published, it might (and most likely) be even higher.
The newfound fame hasn't seemed to change Liu's actions over the past week since winning her gold medal, still laughing with her United States teammates and opening trading card packs with Amber Glenn during the Olympic Closing Ceremony.
But for the other Alysa and Alyssa Lius out there on the internet, it might be one of the most annoying weeks of their lives.

With the surge in new figure skating fans wanting to follow the Olympic champion, several women named Alysa and Alyssa Liu have seen their numbers rise, as followers are unsure which Liu to follow.
It also doesn't help that the actual Alysa Liu, the one with millions of followers now, doesn't show her face as her Instagram profile photo.
It's a bowl of Lucky Charms marshmallows.
One Alyssa Liu has even been forced to change her social media description, deterring new figure skating fans from thinking she's the gold medalist from Oakland.
"I'm not the figure skater," she put in her profile. "Please stop requesting me."
Being a good sport, Alyssa Liu linked to her figure skating counterpart, hoping her phone would soon stop vibrating from random fans across the world trying to be her friend and ask for spinning tips.
