Wales elections: what can we expect ahead of the polls?

Wales will elect a new and expanded Senedd in three weeks time, there will be 96 new members rather than the current 60.

But if the opinion polls are to be believed, neither Labour nor the Conservatives will benefit from those enlarged numbers. Their support is predicted to plunge as voters turn to Plaid Cymru, Reform and the Greens.

That would come as a particular shock to the Labour Party, whose dominance in Wales goes back to the party’s beginnings.
