Public should 'be alert not alarmed’, says justice minister as UK's terror threat level raised

The UK's terror threat level was raised from substantial to severe after the attack in Golders Green. A severe level means an attack is likely within the next six months.

Speaking to Sky News, Justice Minister Alex Davies-Jones urged the public to "be alert not alarmed".

When asked whether the warning specifically related to the Jewish community or the wider UK, she said: "this is a threat to all of us".

"An attack on the Jewish community is an attack on all of us," she added. "It’s an attack on Britain, an attack on values on our way of life."
