Major €2.5m cannabis haul found by detector dog at Dublin Port
Approximately 124 kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €2.48 million were seized by Revenue officers at Dublin Port on Monday. The drugs were discovered as a result of risk profiling, with the assistance of detector dog Darcy, when officers searched a container which originated in France. A Revenue spokeswoman said: "This seizure is part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations involving organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs. "If businesses, or members of the public, have any information regarding drug smuggling, they can contact Revenue in confidence on phone number 1800 295 295. Investigations are ongoing."
