One county upgraded to Status Orange as Met Eireann warn of more heavy rain

There's no let up in the rain battering the east of the country today with one county now under a Status Orange warning. Met Eireann issued the warning for Wicklow shortly before 10:30am this morning and it is not expected to be lifted until 11am on Saturday. The forecaster warns of spells of heavy rain and localised flooding in the area. Dublin remains under a Status Yellow rain warning until 6am on Saturday morning. Spells of heavy rain are expected with a chance of localised flooding. The unsettled weather is expected to last for the rest of the Easter weekend. The grim national forecast reads: Sunday: "There is some uncertainty in the forecast for Easter Sunday, but current indications suggest outbreaks of light rain will clear eastwards in the morning followed by occasional sunny spells and some well scattered showers. Cloudy conditions look to build from the west in the afternoon with rain following. Highest temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees in a light to moderate southerly breeze." Monday: "Rain will clear from the northeast on Easter Monday morning and will be followed by sunny spells and showers. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in a light to moderate southwest wind."
