Mum of missing Elizabeth Clarke begs people with information to come forward
The mum of missing Elizabeth Clarke - who is suspected of being murdered 11 years ago - has begged those who know where she is to come forward saying 'the pain in my heart won't go away.' Mum-of-two Elizabeth was aged 24 when she was last seen in November 2013, and is suspected of being murdered around that time. Ms Clarke, who had lived in Portrane, Co Dublin and Bettystown, Co Meath as well as at another address in Co Meath, was officially reported missing in January 2015. Her disappearance has been the subject of a sustained Garda investigation by the investigation team based at Navan Garda Station. Extensive previous enquiries, including house to house enquiries, land searches, canal and river searches have taken place but there has been no sightings of Elizabeth in over ten years. In February, a search of a house in Navan took place but it is understood nothing of evidential value was discovered. As a result of the extensive enquiries, An Garda Siochana re-classed the investigation from a missing person investigation to a murder investigation. Now, in a recent post on social media, Elizabeth's heartbroken mother Noeleen Bieninda has asked 'Why is there no justice' for her daughter' while those suspected of being involved 'can get on with their lives.' "All I want is to get Lizzy's body and bring it home to lay her to rest. The pain I have in my heart won't go away.

She continued: "I just can't do it anymore. Just please tell me where my daughter is." Following the search of a house in Navan in February, Noeleen said she found it difficult to say her daughter was not found and took time to thank the gardai "for all their hard work" in the search for her daughter's remains. Ms Bieninda made her comments as specialist gardai completed searches at a house in the Claremont estate in Navan, Co Meath. The searches, which commenced last Friday, February 7 and concluded on Monday, February 10, were part of the Garda probe into the disappearance of Elizabeth - which was upgraded to a murder investigation.

The results of the searches of the property in Navan are not being released for operational purposes and the investigation into Elizabeth's disappearance and murder is ongoing. Gardaí said they have updated Ms Clarke's family on any developments. Gardai renewed their appeal for information in relation to the disappearance and murder of Elizabeth. In a statement issued in February, An Garda Siochana said: "Do not assume that An Garda Síochána either knows that information and/or that it has limited value. Let the investigation team make that assessment," a Garda spokesperson said. "Given the time frame of this investigation, gardaí are reminding the public that if they have any information in relation to the disappearance and murder of Elizabeth and for some reason held back on information they may have had, to come forward now. "An Garda Síochána wishes to reassure them that they will be treated sensitively," the spokesperson added. The investigation team can be contacted at Navan Garda Station at 046 9036100, through your local Garda station or the Garda Confidential telephone line 1800 666 111.
