Met Eireann forecasts return of sunshine but unsettled conditions to linger
Met Eireann has forecast bright and sunny spells over the coming days but more rain is also expected. It will be mostly overcast today, Easter Sunday, with patchy outbreaks of rain and drizzle, and with some heavy bursts later further west. There will be hill, mist and coastal fog too. However, a few sunny spells will develop, the best chance of which will be across western fringes this morning and early afternoon and across eastern areas later. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees are forecast, in light to moderate southeasterly breezes. Tonight will bring further outbreaks of rain and drizzle, especially across the western half of the country before becoming patchier as it pushes northeastwards with some mist patches too. Clear spells and scattered showers will follow from the west. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees are forecast, in a light to moderate south to southwest breeze. Damp, drizzly and locally wet weather will clear north and northeast counties tomorrow morning, Easter Monday. While sunny spells will develop widely, scattered heavy showers will occur through the day too with the odd rumble of thunder possible. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees are forecast, in a moderate to fresh westerly wind. Here is Met Eireann's national outlook for the coming days: Outlook "Mixed and unsettled but with some mild sunshine at times too." Monday night "Showers will become isolated with largely dry weather following. Later in the night, rain will begin to move into Atlantic counites.
