Warning ends with Easter rain and sunny spells on the horizon

A wet and dreary end to the week is bringing some bright spots as the yellow weather warning ends for Dublin. The weather warning is due to expire at 6am this morning. There could be localised flooding across the capital following the weather event. As for what's to come - more rain. But that rain will not be as heavy with some dry patches arriving, and spots of sunshine coming through the clouds. Met Eireann says: "A dull and damp start to the day on Saturday as the rain and drizzle continues. As we go through the morning the rain will become lighter and patchier. Drier conditions will develop through the day, although it will remain quite cloudy with a few showers. Highest temperatures of 10 or 11 degrees in light to moderate easterly winds. "Mostly dry on Saturday night, apart from light outbreaks of rain and drizzle in the west that will slowly clear eastwards. Clearer spells will follow into the west overnight. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees with light southeasterly winds veering west to southwest following the clearance of the rain." Here's what to expect in the coming days: Easter Sunday There is some uncertainty in the forecast for Easter Sunday, but current indications suggest outbreaks of light rain will clear eastwards in the morning followed by occasional sunny spells and some well scattered showers. Cloudy conditions look to build from the west in the afternoon with rain following. Highest temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees in a light to moderate southerly breeze. Easter Monday Rain will clear from the northeast on Easter Monday morning and will be followed by sunny spells and showers. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in a light to moderate southwest wind. Tuesday A mix of sunshine and showers spreading from the Atlantic. Highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees in light westerly breeze. Join our Dublin Live breaking news service on WhatsApp. Click this link to receive your daily dose of Dublin Live content.
