National: Pedestrian killed in overnight collision

A pedestrian has been killed in an overnight collision in Belfast.

The incident, involving the pedestrian and a Mercedes Vito, took place at approximately 10:40pm on the Upper Newtownards Road in the east of the city.

Members of the emergency services attended the scene, and the pedestrian was rushed to hospital where they later died.

An investigation has been launched into the potential causes of the collision.
