Enoch Burke arrest ordered by court as fate 'depends on what he says'The High Court has ordered the arrest of teacher Enoch Burke. He is to be brought before a judge this coming Monday to explain his actions. The order follows a repeated breach of a court injunction. Mr. Burke once again trespassed on the grounds of Wilson’s Hospital School in Westmeath despite a permanent ban.Mr. Burke was only recently released from Mountjoy Prison. He had spent over 560 days in jail across three years for similar breaches before being released last Wednesday. The school has expressed major concerns over the ongoing disruption. Legal representatives stated that the teacher's constant presence has had an "unprecedented impact" on the work of the principal and the school. The dispute stems from a refusal to use a student's preferred pronouns. Mr. Burke was originally dismissed from his post after refusing to call a transgender pupil by a new name. The judge will decide on Monday if Mr. Burke returns to jail. His future depends on what he says in court, as the judge considers whether to commit him back to prison for contempt.Read the full story: Enoch Burke arrest ordered by court as fate 'depends on what he says'
