Sarah Michelle Gellar has opened up about the marriage rule she and longtime husband Freddie Prinze Jr. abide by.
The 48-year-old actress and 49-year-old actor tied the knot in 2002 and share daughter Charlotte, 16, and son Rocky, 13.
Gellar told E! News that the key to their longevity is, 'Separate bathrooms. That's what I always say.'
She made the admission at the red carpet premiere of Netflix's Star Search reboot this week.
The former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star is a judge on the live five-week talent competition, alongside Chrissy Teigen and Jelly Roll.
And her kids, whose identities she and her husband keep private, were there to support her at Tuesday night's premiere.

'Well my daughter was a little upset with some of my decisions,' Gellar told ET about her family's reactions to her judging skills.
'But my husband said I did very well and my son said I did a very good job which, from him, is huge.'
Gellar and Prinze Jr. met on the set of the 1997 horror film I Know What You Did Last Summer.
The '90s Hollywood 'it' couple went on to star as Fred and Daphne in both Scooby-Doo live-action films in 2002 and 2004.
On her husband's March 8 birthday last year, the blonde beauty paid tribute to him on Instagram, sharing throwback black and white images of them together.
She wrote in the caption, 'Happy Birthday @realfreddieprinze. The world got very lucky the day you were born, but no one more so than me (and our children) I’m so glad I get to grow old with you…and that you will always have a head start!!'
In July the father of two told Variety, 'Marriage is hard, no matter what business you’re in.
'What works for us might not work for everyone else. We work at it. I’m not perfect. She’s not perfect. We piss each other off, but we respect one another.'

The pair celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary this past September.
Their children's birthdays are also in September, just one day apart.
The proud mom took to Instagram to acknowledge both of her kids' birthdays last year.
She shared baby photos of Charlotte, as well as a black Jeep Wrangler she and her husband gifted the teen.
The caption of the post read, '16 years ago today, you made me a mom. I believe the quote is … a daughter is just a little girl who grows up to be your best friend. Charlotte, you are that and so much more. You are strong, you are inspiring, you are kind, you are funny (almost as funny as me) and most importantly you are one of a kind, the best kind. Im so lucky to call you my best friend. And I’m equally excited to finally be your passenger PRINZEss ❤️.'
The following day she continued gushing toward her son, 'And then three years later you sped into our lives Rocky. I should have known by the way you raced into this world, what your future would hold. Aside from being one of the fastest in the state, you are one of the most polite, kind and funny kids I know. I can’t believe you are a teenager. I love you more than my words can express!!! '
