A Dubliner embarked on the two-hour journey to Belfast to sample "Ireland's best kebab" — and both the food and the cost left him "speechless".
The content creator, recognised online as Paul_IsItWorthIt, positions himself as "Ireland's most honest food reviewer", and has no qualms about delivering harsh verdicts for establishments other influencers have lauded.
His most recent expedition brought him to The Sphinx on Stransmillis Road in Belfast. The venue has secured 'The Best Kebab in Northern Ireland' six times and in 2025 it claimed 'The Best Kebab Takeaway in Ireland' for a third occasion.
Before placing his order, Paul addressed the camera: "I've seen so many different creators do this spot. It looks tremendous. I actually seen the meat on it. The meat is not that processed belt crap. It looks like good stuff — but it looks incredibly expensive.
"I'm curious as to whether it is as good as people say it is."
Yet, responding, cameraman John highlighted: "It has more awards than Michael Phelps mate..."
Paul requested a mixed kebab on chips and a serving of chicken goujons — and the final bill came to £23 (approx €26.30).
The YouTuber was taken aback by the price, and repeatedly mentioned that the kebab cost £16 while the chicken was £7.
However, John informed him that the food "weighed like a small child" before he finally opened up the meal.
Examining the tenders, Paul remarked: "Oh my. I am speechless. They look and smell like absolute elite tenders. Look at the size of that."
They went on to compare it to a battered fish before Paul concluded that the crispy chicken "could be the best chicken tenders out there".
Regarding the impressive kebab, Paul noted it was "so different" to any other top-tier kebabs he had sampled, largely owing to the distinctly unique house sauce.
Savouring the chicken, doner and chips together, he remarked: "This is top three kebab trays in the country. That has taken me off the smokes a bit to be honest with you. I'm flabbergasted. It's unbelievable.
"Sometimes you come to these places and they're just bang average or they're not what people say they are. That's the truth. I'm going to dream about that. There's nothing like that anywhere else in the country. I would advise you to come check this out once in your life. The size of the portion is ridiculous."
Prior to delivering his verdict, the Dubliner mentioned they had begun to "love the people of Belfast", with the city winning them over considerably since their inaugural visit.
On the subject of his rating, he stated: "This is a proper one of those where you see the price and you're like, 'how much?' But then you taste it and you're paying for quality."
John suggested it was essentially enough food for two people, while Paul declared he would rather spend "crazy money for crazy good food" than fork out an average sum for a mediocre meal.
He finished: "This is a really hard one to score. I am going to go 9.3 out of ten. And genuinely, it is a ten on taste, it's just the price – I cannot give it any more than 9.3 out of ten.
"But it is absolutely elite. This spot is tremendous. It is the truth. I would recommend it."
Following the video's publication, which you can view in full here, one viewer commented: "Everything looks so good that I feel like getting a flight to Belfast for lunch there."
Another stated: "The kebab and chips could feed two. That price seems like a value considering the quality. I'd snap off your hand for the chicken and chips in the US at that price."
