Names Have Been Replaced With Places(Holders)

When I was at University, I once had a housemate whose surname in Italian sounded like it was stating the place he came from. To make it understandable for the English reader, think his name was something like “John from Miami”. Names are obviously adapted for the sake of understanding.

One day John had an exam in the city of Boston, and he was late because of the traffic. He entered the exam room, went to the professor, and said:

Housemate: “Professor, I am sorry I am late for the exam, I am from Miami.”

The professor looked at him with an annoyed face and answered:

Professor: “I am from Miami too, but I was here on time for the exam start.”

Housemate: *Trying to keep his composure.* “Professor, I meant that my surname is from Miami.”

The professor quickly hushed him in the room.
