The Memphis Grizzlies announced that Jaylen Wells has undergone a successful procedure to stabilize his right big toe and will be sidelined for the remainder of the 2025/26 season, according to a team press release.

The second-year wing required surgery to repair a tendon avulsion fracture in the toe. While the team didn’t specify an exact recovery timeline, it is expected to keep him out for the rest of the year.

Wells appeared in 69 games this season, starting all of them, and averaged 12.5 points in 26.4 minutes per game while shooting .431 from the field, .353 from three, and .784 from the free-throw line.

He also added 3.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists per contest, producing numbers largely in line with his rookie campaign in 2024/25, when he finished third in Rookie of the Year voting.

He had already missed the Grizzlies’ previous three games due to the injury. The team noted that he is expected to fully recover.
