Charlotte Casiraghi opened up about the book during an interview with Elle, revealing how raising her children has played a key role in the work. ‘Although legislative changes are positive and men’s involvement is greater, a deep legacy persists: for centuries, family care and devotion have fallen almost exclusively on [mothers],’ she explained. ‘Literature and philosophy can help us move beyond a moralistic perspective and accept that recognising our vulnerabilities is a form of truth, and perhaps the first step towards a fairer and more compassionate view.’

An ambassador for the fashion house since 2021, the Monégasque royal was one of the guests of honour as Matthieu Blazy revealed his first couture collection after taking on the role of creative director last year. The mother-of-two made a point of arriving at the event alongside her former mother-in-law, the actress Carole Bouquet. Charlotte married Carole’s son, the film producer Dimitri Rassam, in 2019, one year after they welcomed a son, Balthazar Rassam. While the pair split in 2024, Charlotte and Carole have remained close.
