When it comes to half-term holidays, the family tends to spend their time on the uber-exclusive island of Mustique, no doubt because of the extensive privacy it offers. The island operates a strict no-fly zone (ideal to protect one from prying eyes), and there's just one commercial hotel, with moneyed clientele typically preferring secluded villas for their getaways. No wonder Kate and William first came here in 2008, before they were married, and have since returned multiple times.

They often rent Villa Antilles, a sprawling, luxury holiday home with five bedrooms and a 60ft infinity pool, which boasts glorious views out to neighbouring islands of Saint Vincent and Bequia. Built in 2016 by William’s friend and property developer Andrew Dunn, Villa Antilles also has silent air-conditioning, a jacuzzi, a drinks bar and its own Jeep for the use of its guests.
