Much like her father, Letizia harboured ambitions to become a journalist, ultimately pursuing a bachelor’s degree in the field at the Complutense University of Madrid. After the end of her degree, the future queen doubled down, gaining a master’s degree in audiovisual journalism from the Institute for Audiovisual Journalism Studies. On graduating, she worked at both the Spanish-language versions of Bloomberg and CNN. During her time as a journalist, she reported on major events, including 9/11 and the Iraq War.
