Bad Bunny reclaimed his spot as Spotify‘s most-streamed artist globally in 2025, generating more than 19.8 billion streams on the platform throughout the year. The achievement sees him reclaim the position back from Taylor Swift, who held the title for two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024.
Taylor Swift achieved more than 26.6 billion streams globally on Spotify in 2024, and 26.1 billion on the platform in 2023.
Superstar Puerto Rican rapper and singer Bad Bunny previously dominated the platform from 2020 to 2022, making this his fourth time reaching the top spot.
Swift, who ended Bad Bunny‘s three-year reign in 2023, fell to second place in this year’s rankings, followed by The Weeknd, Drake, and Billie Eilish, rounding out the top five.
The announcement came as part of Spotify’s annual Wrapped campaign released Wednesday (December 3). This yearly event highlights the top-performing artists, songs, albums and podcasts on the platform.
Bad Bunny’s album DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS contributed to his dominance. The record also topped Spotify’s global album charts for 2025. The streaming giant is marking Bad Bunny’s milestone with a global film launch, fan experiences and platform features.
As MBW reported in August, DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS was Sony Music Entertainment’s biggest revenue-generating project in Q2 2025. The album also helped Bad Bunny become the first Spanish-language artist to earn nominations for three of the Grammy Awards’ Big Four categories, including Song, Record, and Album of the Year.

The platform added a “Listening Age” metric that compares users’ musical preferences with others in their age group based on release years of frequently played tracks. Users can now also view their top albums for the first time, alongside traditional metrics like top songs and genres.
Spotify also incorporated audiobooks into the personalized experience, introducing metrics for top audiobook genres and most-listened titles. Rebecca Yarros‘ Fourth Wing ranked as the platform’s top audiobook in Premium for 2025. The feature includes clips from authors such as Dan Brown, James Patterson and Abby Jimenez.
In podcasting, The Joe Rogan Experience maintained its position as Spotify’s top podcast globally for the sixth consecutive year.
Additionally, a new “Fan Leaderboard” shows users where they rank among their favorite artists’ listeners worldwide based on total minutes streamed. The platform also introduced “Clubs,” which sorts users into six categories representing different listening styles.
Spotify also launched “Wrapped Party,” an interactive feature that turns listening data into a competitive game users can play with friends.
For artists, Spotify released Wrapped for Artists, giving musicians and songwriters data about their listener base. The feature identifies “super listeners” or monthly active users who stream an artist’s music more than anyone else, and tracks when these fans peaked and their contribution to total streams.
Spotify data also revealed that more than 70,000 artists uploaded Clips through the platform, which appear in top listeners’ feeds and Wrapped stories. The feature allows artists to thank fans, celebrate achievements or preview upcoming releases.
Wrapped for Songwriters, meanwhile, returned for 2025, providing writers with Songwriter Pages their own personalized microsite and shareable cards.
