King Charles begins US state visit following shooting at Trump dinner in Washington
The King and Queen have been greeted by Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, outside the White House as they begin their four-day state visit to the US.
The royal couple arrived on Monday afternoon at Joint Base Andrews, near Washington DC where they were greeted by US chief of protocol Monica Crowley and the British ambassador to the US, Sir Christian Turner.
The King and Queen soon went inside and drank a cup of tea in the Green Room of the White House with the president.
The trip coincides with the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, with much of King Charles's visit centred around the celebrations.
