Calls for Keir Starmer to resign over Mandelson's failed security vetting

Back in September, Sir Keir Starmer told MPs that during Lord Mandelson's controversial appointment as Ambassador to the United States "full, due process was followed."
But today Downing Street was forced to confirm a Guardian newspaper report that Lord Mandelson had actually failed the second round of his security vetting. The Number 10 statement said it was the Foreign Office which overruled the security check.

It has now been notified that the Foreign Office permanent under-secretary Sir Olly Robbins will be leaving his post after the PM and Foreign Secretary have lost confidence.
