Man arrested after €50,000 worth of jewellery stolen in city centre burglary
A man was arrested following a burglary at a jewellery shop in the early hours of the morning. Gardai were alerted to the break-in at the store on Kildare Street in Dublin city centre at around 2.45am this morning. On arrival, they encountered a suspect who fled the scene on foot. He was pursued by Gardai after he was seen entering St Stephen's Green Park. Officers caught the man, 20s, who was arrested and detained at a Garda station in Dublin. The park was sealed while Gardai searched the area for the stolen jewellery in the daylight. Officers found the jewellery estimated to be worth €50,000 in a bag.
