HoYoverse has confirmed that Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.1, titled Unraveled for Daybreak, will launch on March 25, bringing a new chapter in the Planarcadia storyline alongside a major in-game festival, fresh gameplay activities, and a new playable character.

As you might expect from a Honkai update, things begin with celebration and quickly spiral into something more mysterious.

The Astral Express crew arrives on Planarcadia to attend the newly announced Star Rail FEST, a massive exposition celebrating the crew’s past adventures across the galaxy. The festival is designed as a sort of in-universe fan convention dedicated to the exploits of the Trailblazer and their companions, with themed zones recreating locations from earlier journeys.

You will be able to explore three large festival areas based on Belobog, Xianzhou Luofu, and Penacony, each recreating memorable encounters and story beats. Expect oversized displays, staged boss battles, and themed attractions inspired by previous Honkai: Star Rail arcs.

Naturally, it wouldn’t be Honkai if the celebration stayed on track for long.

Behind the scenes, tensions continue to build around the Phantasmoon Games and the looming War of the Supplicants, hinting that the festivities may simply be a distraction for something darker unfolding on Planarcadia.

New detective character Ashveil joins the roster

Gameplay-wise, Ashveil’s combat style revolves around marking enemies as “Bait.” When a target is marked, enemy defenses drop and the character gains enhanced opportunities to unleash follow-up attacks as teammates strike the marked enemy. The mechanic allows Ashveil to chain attacks together while generating additional Skill Points, making him a potentially powerful addition to aggressive team compositions.

Version 4.1 also introduces Ashveil, a new 5-star Lightning character on the Path of The Hunt, who becomes a central figure in the unfolding story.

New Strategy Mode and rewards

Outside the story content, Version 4.1 also adds a new event activity called Wispae War Saga.

In this mode, players command squads of wispae soldiers inside the Graphia Academy, using strategy, upgrades, and special spell cards to defeat increasingly powerful opponents. Completing challenges unlocks additional wispae units and higher-difficulty battles.

Players logging in after the update will receive 10 free Warps, and several returning reward events—including Planar Fissure and Garden of Plenty—will also return with boosted loot opportunities.

Meanwhile, the Divergent Universe mode moves into a new Arcadian Chronicles phase, adding exploration routes that players can unlock using special Waypoint Pass cards.

Still one of the biggest gacha games around

Honkai: Star Rail continues to be one of HoYoverse’s biggest successes, having surpassed 150 million downloads worldwide since launch across PC, mobile, PS5, and the Epic Games Store.
