The SNP's Westminster leader Stephen Flynn says if his party wins a majority of seats in this week's Scottish parliament election, they will take it as a mandate to demand a fresh independence referendum.
The pro-independence campaign lost a referendum in 2014 by 55% to 45%.
But Flynn said: "If next Thursday we break the electoral system in Scotland once again, we secure that majority that... delivers us the opportunity of a fresh start with independence."
He went on to say the UK is "broken beyond repair" and that Scotland needs to be able to take power for itself.
